don't give up

(Gal 6:9) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Someone once said that the reason so many people miss opportunities is because they come dressed in overalls and look like work!
I was again reminded over this last while that when we need an opportunity or miracle in our lives, we often miss it because we don't recognise what is required from our side... we often feel overwhelmed by the need and hope that it will all come from God.
God is of course big enough to do exactly that however the growth in us comes when we approach God with what we have or can do and ask him to 'break it and bless it'.
We can also miss it by giving up. We have a time frame in our mind and when God does not 'deliver' within that time span we panic and feel he has let us down. Anxieties and fear creeps in and we give up. Galatians 6:9 says that we will reap a harvest in the proper time. This is God's time not ours... God is not controlled by our watch or calender.
It also says that we will see the harvest if we do not give up.
I wonder how many miracles or opportunities we've missed because of giving up before God's plan unfolds.
So come to God with what you have and don't give up.
